YOUR IMPACT

The funds raised from the 5K runs will directly support Youth Focus North East (YFNE) by enabling the organisation to expand its vital services for young people across the region. This financial support will help fund essential programmes, including mental health initiatives, employability skills workshops, and open access youth provision, all designed to empower young people and provide them with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Additionally, the money will contribute towards operational costs, ensuring that YFNE can continue delivering high-quality support and outreach to those who need it most. Every pound raised will make a tangible difference in the lives of young people, fostering a brighter and more inclusive future and ultimately improve the lives of young people through high quality youth work.

East Park Road, Low Fell, Gateshead NE9 5AX

Race numbers will be given out at the top of the park at Prism Coffee.

Junior 2K: The course is two anticlockwise laps on tarmac paths, staring and finishing in the bowling green next to the children’s playground, near the toilet block. The first lap is slightly longer and takes you around the lake and up the hill, the second lap is shorter as it goes through the sports pitches – missing out the hill.

Senior 5K: Starting by the South Pavilion shelter runners follow the path around the Northern Field, in a northerly direction, to complete one anti-clockwise lap bringing them back to the shelter, where they continue straight ahead. Keeping right runners follow the path downhill past the dog walking enclosure, turning left after passing the Bowling Green. The path is followed back to the Enfield Road entrance where runners double back to complete a further two laps of this circuit. After reaching the Enfield Road gate entrance for the third time, runners continue ahead, veering right to take them back to the start/finish line at the South Pavilion shelter.
